Vugar Khalilov

Biography

Vugar has extensive working experience with Western media industry and communications consulting. Vugar worked as a producer and a presenter for the Russian Service at the BBC World Service headquarters in London. Prior to that he mastered his professional skills serving as a Moscow-based reporter for the BBC Russian Service. During his time with the British Broadcasting Corporation, Vugar successfully established relationships with top government officials, covered political and economic events in CIS and also served as a war correspondent in dangerous Caucasus areas. Before joining the BBC staff Vugar worked for the US radio station “Liberty” and was among the first few independent journalists to initiate cooperation with foreign mass media. In his reports Khalilov focused on political processes in the republics of the former USSR, covered economic, power and business matters. In recent years he served as a consultant to a number of government agencies and companies on UK mass media communications and image issues. During his time, a partner at one of the leading British financial PR agencies, Vugar provided advisory to companies located in CIS countries in matters of communications support, investments raising and positive image building.

Biography

Aizada’s marketing and advertising experience together with exceptional organizational skills serve as one of the main assets to the company. Aizada has successfully implemented the establishment and promotion strategy for a number of companies in the Kyrgyz market. Before joining Flexi, Aizada worked as Head of Marketing and Advertising Department of MGN Group, where she achieved effective company positioning in the financial sector of the republic and propelled MGN Group to top positions in the consulting services field across the capital and financial markets. Aizada has extensive marketing and communications experience. Her career took off in 1998 at the Department of Advertising and PR of the International Business Bank (IBB).
Aizada graduated from the Kyrgyz State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and is also currently completing a Master’s degree in business administration at the Presidential Academy.

Edward Baumgartner

Biography

Edward Baumgartner has built a successful career spanning corporate communications, broadcast and print journalism and market analysis in the US, the UK and Russia, where he has worked for ABC, Fox, The Economist Group and Global Insight, among others. He is the founder of Baumgartner Ltd, a consultancy that focuses mainly on the former Soviet Union.
From 2002 to 2005, Edward was a partner and head of the Russia and CIS business at Shared Value, a London-based investor and public relations consultancy. His role involved advising the senior management of leading regional companies on communications strategy, and his clients included Wimm-Bill-Dann Foods, Evraz Holding, Modern Times Group, Pharmacy Chain 36.6, Sukhoi, the Russian Regional Jet consortium, Sistema and Interros.
Since 2005, Edward has been an independent communications and due diligence consultant. In particular, he is an independent financial communications adviser to Wimm-Bill-Dann Foods, Russia’s largest food producer, and Public Area, a leading Moscow-based investor relations firm, as well as Flexi Communications, a public relations house in Kyrgyzstan. In addition, Edward recently served as a public relations adviser in a major transaction by a state-owned energy firm in Ukraine. He has also been the lead writer of annual reports for numerous Russian blue-chip companies, including Sistema, Comstar, Wimm-Bill-Dann Foods and Rosinter.
In 2009, Edward was the leader and head researcher of a project to write a five-year plan to develop a strategic industry for the government of Kazakhstan, as part of the country’s accelerated industrial development and diversification programme.
Edward has a BA in History from Vassar College and an MA in Russian, Eastern European and Central Asian Studies from Harvard University. He speaks Russian fluently.

Natalia Orlova

Prior to Flexi Natalia served as the press secretary at strategic Kyrgyz enterprises, OJSC Severelectro and OJSC Electricheskie Stantsii (Electric Power Stations). During the period of her employment she proved herself to be an expert in creating integrated communications strategies and their subsequent market-specific implementation. When shaping the company’s communications policy, Natalia ensured the understanding of its goals and objectives by various audiences, and increased citation of the abovementioned companies in mass media. Before joining Severelectro, Natalia took advantage of her organizational skills in the socio-political field. She was part of the Foundation for Tolerance International and a non-governmental organization Youth Human Rights Group.
Natalia graduated from the Kyrgyz Russian Slavic University with an honors degree in Psychology.

Sophya Balakina

Before being invited to join the agency, Sophya was the editor-in-chief of “National Interest”, information and analysis magazine, and the reporter for “Exclusive”, Kyrgyz analytical publication. Prior to that she served as the editor of the weekly newswire published by Central Asia Newswire company. Sophya has a unique reporting and editing experience and deep understanding of the information flow formation. Her professional qualities drew the attention of mass media beyond Kyrgyzstan. Sophya worked as a string correspondent in Central Asia for “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” newspaper and provided coverage of the main events in the region; she was in the forefront of relaying exclusive political and economic information. Her producing skills were honed during cooperation with camera crews of such TV channels as “NTV”, “Zvezda” (Russia) and “Al-Jazeera” (Kuwait). Apart from that she gained invaluable PR experience through her cooperation with “Eastpoint”, the full-service advertising agency in Kazakhstan.

Biography

Nuraim possesses a unique combination of extensive data handling experience and organizational skills. She spent over seven years working in journalism, where she focused primarily on covering economic and political events. Her career path included all the steps from a reporter to the editor-in-chief of a news department. Further on, she was invited to work at the Press Office of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic where she was in charge of planning and implementing media campaigns as well as providing daily informational support to the Kyrgyz President. Her career was continued at “ROST21” trading company, one of the largest importers and distributors of cosmetics and household cleaning products in Russia. Ramis has a creative spirit. It is his desire to create new things and implement effective creative ideas that brought him to Flexi. Prior to that Ramis worked as a financial analyst at MGN Group. He got a good start by making rapid career progress in a relatively short period of time at “Shoro”, one of Kyrgyzstan’s large manufacturing companies. Having started out as a personal assistant to the President of the company, Ramis advanced in his career path to the position of the business analyst at the regional development department. It is this job that revealed his responsible and careful approach to work, along with his organizational, managerial skills and a desire and ability to work as part of the team.

For over 6 years has been involved in multimedia presentations development, web design, 3d modeling and graphic design. He spent 5 years working for Ikeen Group, a company specializing in developing various software products primarily for Kazakhstan (large banks, telecommunications companies etc.). During this time he was part of the process of usability development for all the programs, web sites and payment interfaces (ATMs, CashIn). Danil Vakhidov is a web developer with 10 years of experience. Danil was one of the founders of Kazantsev Creative Group studio where he was responsible for technical development of the projects. Later on he was invited to join “IKEEN” as a technical director, where he supervised planning, designing and managed web developers’ operations. The next step in Danil’s career was the position of a QA Engineer at Web Masters and Testing Department at “Agava”. He participated in developing ifolder.ru, which is the most frequented file sharing service in Russia. Danil also has experience working as an educator; he held a web technologies course at Kyrgyz National University named after Zh. Balasagyn, as well as web engineering courses at “Agava”. Over the course of his career Danil gained valuable experience in developing websites of various functional abilities and contents – from corporate to highly frequented multi-million services. Anton Tulenev

Biography

Anton Tulenev – a web designer performing graphic and web design. He found his calling while still in school. At 16 he completed his first web projects. Along with studying at Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University majoring in Software, Anton held the position of a designer at WISCO. Further on, he worked on a freelance basis doing projects for large prominent companies from Russia, Kazakhstan and Germany. In particular, Anton designed websites for KIRBI, the local chips manufacturer, “Altyn Orda” retail shopping center in Kazakhstan as well as the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Russia, etc.
While working at Flexi, Anton continues to cooperate with many local designers and is an active contributor to Kyrgyz design community development.
